Maternity waiting periods — NZ health insurance
Where a plan covers pregnancy at all, it is usually through a capped allowance with its own wait. Southern Cross Wellbeing Two: "After 1 year of continuous cover on the Wellbeing Two plan, this benefit provides cover for obstetric care". Maternity care through a midwife or the public system is free for eligible people in NZ.
